How often should I change my filter?

How often should I change my filter and are there any alternatives to the filters in the ceiling, they are odd sizes and difficult to change?

    Well if you have 1" filters we recommend changing them every 30 days! i know its allot when as you mentioned they are hard to find. There is a solutions to your filter problem. it is a Media Filter this filter is a 4" pelted filter which you replace 1-2 times a year, the replacement costs are only around 35-60.00 bucks per filter. the filters merv ratings run between 8-16, this filter is installed in the attic right before the blower or if you heating/air conditioning system is in a closest then it would go underneath the blower. installation costs run around $486.00-600.00 below is a picture on what this would look like. this filter system is also going to keep your home cleaner cut down on dust and allergies.
