Is Your Heating System Performing Well?

The local news channel reports that today will be the last day in 2011 that we reach 70 degrees.  A cold front comes through tonight and brings back the winter weather.

Your Heater Could Be Producing CO.

Now is a good time to test your carbon monoxide detector, or purchase one if you don’t already have one! Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and toxic gas that is created while burning natural gas. All gas furnaces have a vent pipe or exhaust system that routes the toxic gas out of your home. However, sometimes those pipes can break or become restricted due to crushing of the pipe or a foreign body lodged inside.  This can be deadly for your family and prevention is the best plan. During a preventative maintenance check, Precision Heating and Air Conditioning thoroughly checks your heating system for any CO leaks.  Often warning signs can present as flu-like symptoms.  Watch for confusion, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, headaches, and people with heart disease may have chest pains.  All symptoms will disappear once you leave the toxic area; however, if the gas goes unnoticed CO exposure can be fatal.  Protect your family today and call Precision Heating & Air Conditioning for their safety and your peace of mind.
